Your brand is the thing you’ve spent years building. Every yard sign, every truck door, every business card points back to it. So it’s worth knowing that the page your clients sign in on can carry it too.
You have your own client login page — your logo, your colors, your contact details, at your own web address. It’s the page to send clients to.
The Short Version
Go to Settings → Client Portal. You’ll find two things there: your Client login link (something like clients.eano.com/yourcompany) and your Brand Colors. Copy the link, send it to your clients, and put it on your website. When they open it, they see your business, not ours.
Finding Your Client Login Link
Open Settings and pick Client Portal from the menu on the left. It sits near the top, right under Business Profile.
The first section is Client login link. One is already made for you based on your company name — if you’re XYZ Contracting, you’ll see something like clients.eano.com/xyz-contracting sitting there ready to go. There’s a copy button on the right of the box; that copies the full sign-in link, which is the thing you actually want to hand out.
If you’d rather it read differently, click Configure URL next to the link. You can type whatever you like after the slash, and we check it as you type.
A few rules apply, mostly so the links stay clean and unmistakable:
Between 3 and 40 characters
Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
No hyphen at the very start or very end, and no two hyphens in a row
It has to be one nobody else has claimed
A handful of words are off limits too — things like login, admin, billing, or eano — because they’d collide with the way the addresses are routed or leave clients unsure whose page they’re on. If you pick one, we’ll tell you and you can try something else.
Worth knowing: hyphens don’t count toward uniqueness. If xyzcontracting is taken, xyz-contracting is taken too. That’s deliberate — two contractors in the same city with similar names shouldn’t be able to end up one hyphen apart from each other.
Hit Save and the new address is live immediately. Cancel backs out without changing anything.
Changing Your Mind Later
You can change your URL as often as you want, and your old ones keep working. If you start at /xyz and later move to /xyzpros, anyone who still has the old link gets forwarded to the new one automatically. Nothing you’ve already sent out breaks.
The flip side: once you’ve claimed an address, it stays yours. Nobody else can pick it up after you’ve moved on.
Setting Your Brand Colors
The second section on the same tab is Brand Colors. Pick one of the color pairs and it saves the moment you click — there’s no Save button to hunt for.
Those colors do double duty. They set the button color on your login page, and they carry through the client portal your clients use afterward, so the whole experience holds together.
What Your Client Actually Sees
They open your link and get a clean sign-in page with:
Your logo across the top. If you haven’t uploaded one, your company name appears in nice large type instead — so it reads as yours either way.
“Sign in to [your company name]” as the heading.
A single box for their email or phone number, and a Continue button in your brand color. We text or email them a six-digit code, they type it in, and they’re in their project.
Your email and phone at the bottom, under “Need help? Contact…”, so a stuck client calls you rather than hunting for a support address.
What they don’t see is just as much the point: no Eano logo, no Eano marketing, no link back to our website, and no way to sign up for a contractor account. That last one matters more than it sounds — on a generic login page, clients sometimes create themselves a contractor account by mistake. Here there’s nothing to click.
The logo, company name, email, and phone all come from Settings → Business Profile. If any of them look wrong on the login page, that’s where you fix them. If you’ve filled in neither an email nor a phone, the contact line is left off entirely rather than showing an empty one.
Who Can Sign In There
Because the page is yours, we check that the person signing in is actually one of your clients before sending them a code. Two groups get through:
Clients who already use the portal. Same sign-in they know, on your page.
Clients you’ve invited but who haven’t accepted yet. The link works on its own, without them needing to dig up the original invitation email — signing in with a code finishes setting up their account. It’s the same proof, delivered better: a code expires in a couple of minutes, where an invitation email sits in an inbox forever and can be forwarded to anyone.
People you’ve only saved as contacts — typed into your client list, never sent a portal invitation — stay locked out. Access is something you grant, not something a stale contact record hands out on its own.
Anyone who isn’t your client at all is blocked, including other contractors and other contractors’ clients. One thing to be ready for: the page doesn’t announce the block. Someone who isn’t on your list is still walked through to the code screen, they just never get a working code. That’s on purpose — a page that says “we don’t know that email” is a page a stranger can use to find out who your clients are.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
The generic Eano client login works too. Both addresses work in parallel, so a client who already has an old link isn’t stranded.
Notification emails and texts point at the generic login. The messages we send your clients don’t use your branded address yet. Changing that is next on the list — see below.
The branding follows the address. Your logo and colors appear when a client arrives through your link. Someone who comes in through the generic address gets the generic page.
It’s available on every plan. No plan requirement, no waiting list. If you can open Settings, you have it.
Anyone who can open Settings can change it. That’s typically Owners and Admins. It’s a team-wide setting — one link for the whole business.
Put it where clients look. A “Client Login” button on your website, a line in your email signature, and the footer of your printed paperwork will do more for adoption than anything else.
Where This Is Headed
The login page is the first piece of a larger push toward a fully branded client experience, and the next parts are already scheduled.
Every message pointing at your page. The login links inside your notifications are still the generic ones. We’re going through every email and text sent to your clients — project invitations, quotes, invoices, payment requests, milestone updates — and pointing them at your branded page instead. Expired sign-in links will land there too, rather than dumping someone on a page they don’t recognize.
Client accounts that belong to you. Today your clients and everyone else’s share one pool of accounts. That’s the reason behind some of the guardrails you’ve run into — particularly the limits on editing your own clients’ contact details, which exist to protect accounts that might be shared across contractors. Once each contractor’s clients are a separate set, those guardrails can relax and your client list becomes genuinely yours to manage.
Your own web address. Your page lives at clients.eano.com/yourcompany. Some of you will want it at clients.yourcompany.com with no mention of us anywhere, including the address bar. We’re weighing whether to build that, and how loudly people ask is what decides it. If that matters to your business, tell us — message us from the app or ask to talk to a person. It genuinely moves the priority.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to set this up? No. A link is already generated from your company name and works right now. Choosing brand colors and a nicer URL takes about two minutes, but there’s nothing to switch on.
Can I use my own domain, like clients.mycompany.com? Not today. The page lives on clients.eano.com with your name in the path. Let us know if you want a full custom domain — see above.
Will changing my URL break the link I already sent out? No. Old addresses forward to your current one automatically, so anything already in a client’s inbox keeps working.
Somebody else took the name I wanted. Can I have it? No — once claimed, an address stays with that account. Try a variation: adding your city or “pros”/“build”/“co” usually gets you something clean.
My client says the code never arrives. First check they’re entering the same email or phone you have on their client record — a code only goes to a contact we recognize as your client. Second, make sure you actually invited them to the portal rather than just saving them as a contact. If both look right, get in touch and we can look up what happened on our side.
Can my clients create an account from this page? No, and that’s intentional. It’s a sign-in page only. Access starts with you inviting them from their project.
Can other contractors’ clients get into my portal through my link? No. We check that the email or phone belongs to one of your clients before a code goes out. Someone who isn’t will be shown the code screen anyway — that’s a deliberate privacy measure, not a bug — but no code that works will ever reach them.
Where do I change the logo and phone number that show on the page? Settings → Business Profile. The login page reads your logo, company name, email, and phone from there.
