Using WhatsApp for Daily Logs with Eano Construction Bot

Your subs and field crews already live in WhatsApp. Instead of asking them to learn a new app, Eano lets them send photos and notes straight from WhatsApp — and the updates land automatically in your project’s Daily Log. No training, no logins, no chasing.

Why Use WhatsApp for Daily Logs

External vendors and subs aren’t your employees, and field workers — even your own — aren’t always eager to pick up new software. WhatsApp is already on their phone, so there’s nothing new to learn. They snap a photo, type a quick note, and Eano files it where it belongs. You get your daily updates without nagging, and everything stays organized in one place. Workers can even mark up a photo before sending it.

Before You Start: Assign Your Team

The bot connects the dots using each worker’s phone number, so two things need to be in place first:

  • Add your team members to Eano Pro, using the phone number they use on WhatsApp.

  • Assign them to the specific projects they’re working on.

That setup is what lets the bot recognize who’s messaging and show them the right projects.

Step 1: Connect to the Eano Construction Bot

Have your worker open WhatsApp and start a chat with the Eano Construction Bot — either by scanning the QR code below, or by adding the contact number 650-629-2228 and sending a message to start the conversation.

One thing that matters: the WhatsApp number the worker messages from must match the number on their Eano profile. That’s the link the bot uses to know who they are.

Step 2: Pick the Project

Because the bot already knows the worker by their phone number, it replies with a list of the projects they’re assigned to. The worker just taps the right one, and everything they send next gets filed to that project — no location sharing, no project codes to memorize, just pick from the list.

Step 3: Send the Update

The bot asks what happened on site. The worker replies in whatever way is easiest:

  • A quick text — for example, “Installed drywall on the 2nd floor.”

  • Photos or videos of progress, deliveries, or site conditions.

Step 4: It Syncs Automatically

That’s the whole job. The photos and notes flow straight into the project’s Daily Log on your Eano dashboard — no further steps for the worker or the supervisor. From there you can review everything, and share any update with your client if you’d like (the Daily Log article covers how that sharing works).

Good to Know

  • The phone numbers have to match. The WhatsApp number a worker messages from must be the same one on their Eano profile — that’s how the bot identifies them and knows which projects to offer.

  • No app login required. Workers never have to sign in to Eano. WhatsApp is all they touch.

  • Best sent during or at the end of the workday, while the details are still fresh.
