You’re standing in a client’s kitchen. They’re describing the remodel they have in mind, and you’d love to hand them a ballpark number before you leave — but pulling out a laptop and building a scope line by line isn’t going to happen mid-conversation.
That’s exactly what the AI chat assistant is for. It’s a chat-style way to spin up a full estimate right from your phone: you describe the project in a sentence or two — typed or spoken out loud — and it builds out a draft scope in seconds. It’s quick enough to do while you’re still on-site, so you can turn a walkthrough into a real opportunity before you’ve even left the driveway.
This article walks through opening the assistant, describing your project, reviewing what it generates, and turning it into a live opportunity.
The Idea in a Nutshell
Building an estimate usually means sitting down and adding items to a scope one at a time. The assistant flips that around: you tell it what the job is, in plain language, and it does the first pass for you. You’re left with a draft you can review, regenerate if it’s not quite right, and confirm into a real opportunity — all from a few taps on your phone.
Think of it as sketching the estimate by talking it through, instead of typing it out.
Step 1: Open the Assistant
In the mobile app, tap the round chat button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. That’s your assistant, and it’s available from anywhere in the app.
Step 2: Tell It What You Need
Once the assistant is open, tap Write a new estimate. From there you can either type a description of the project or tap the microphone to send a voice message — handy when your hands are full or you’d rather just talk it through.
There’s no special format to follow. A plain description of the work — what kind of project it is, roughly what’s involved — is all it needs to get started.
Step 3: Let It Build the Estimate
The assistant takes your description and generates a draft estimate from it within a few seconds — a starting scope you can shape from here, not a finished quote.
Step 4: Review and Confirm
Tap See Details and Confirm to open the draft and look it over.
If it looks right, tap Confirm to lock it in. If it’s not quite what you had in mind, tap Regenerate to give the assistant another pass — you can adjust your description and let it try again.
Step 5: Your Opportunity Is Created
Once you confirm, tap See Details and the assistant turns the estimate into a brand-new opportunity in your pipeline automatically — no separate setup step.
Filling In the Rest
The opportunity starts with the scope the assistant built. From there you can round it out with the details that make it a real project record:
The project address
Client information
Internal notes
Because it’s all on your phone, you can do this right there during the meeting — capture the address, jot down what the client said, and keep everything current while it’s fresh.

A Few Things Worth Knowing
It’s a starting point, not the final quote. The assistant gives you a solid first draft, but it’s yours to review and adjust before anything goes to a client. Treat it like a head start on the scope.
Regenerate is free to lean on. If the first estimate isn’t close, tweak your description and regenerate rather than fixing everything by hand — it’s often faster to re-describe the job than to edit a draft that missed the mark.
Voice works as well as typing. A spoken description gets you the same result, which is the quicker path when you’re moving around a job site.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I find the assistant? It’s the round chat button in the bottom-right corner of the mobile app. Tap it from anywhere, then choose Write a new estimate to begin.
Do I have to type, or can I talk? Either one. Tap to type a description, or use the microphone to send a voice message describing the project. Both feed the same estimate.
What if the estimate isn’t right? Tap Regenerate instead of Confirm. You can adjust your description and let the assistant take another pass until it’s closer to what you had in mind.
What happens after I confirm? A new opportunity is created automatically with the generated scope. You can then add the project address, client details, and internal notes — right from your phone, on-site if you like.
Can everyone on my team use it? Everyone can open the assistant and explore it. Creating a new opportunity from an AI-generated estimate, though, is reserved for team members who can create opportunities — Owners, Admins, Core Members, and Superusers. If a Field Worker tries to confirm one, the assistant will let them know they don’t have permission for that step.
Can I change the estimate after the assistant creates it?
Yes. Once the opportunity exists, you can edit its line items right from your phone — see Editing an Estimate from the Mobile App.
