There are two kinds of “help” inside Eano Pro, and it saves a lot of time to know which one you’re talking to.
If you want to understand how something works — what a status means, where a setting lives, how billing is handled — that’s the help chat, the bubble at the bottom-right of the screen.
If you want something done — build me an estimate, create this opportunity, add a task, pull the line items out of this PDF — that’s Concierge, Eano’s built-in AI assistant. It doesn’t explain the steps to you. It takes them, and shows you the result to approve before anything is saved.
The short version: click Concierge at the top of the left-hand navigation to work across your whole account, or open the Ask AI tab inside a specific job to work on that job.
Two Chats, and Why There Are Two
Concierge is split into a global chat and a project chat. It’s not a limitation so much as a division of labor — the two have different information in front of them.
The global Concierge chat sits behind the Concierge button in the left-hand navigation and floats on top of whatever you were doing. It knows about your whole account: every project and opportunity you have access to. Use it to look things up across jobs and to create new ones.
The project chat is the vertical Ask AI tab tucked against the left-hand navigation when you’re on a project or opportunity’s detail page. It’s focused on that one job, so it’s the one that can actually change the work — the scope, the tasks, the project details.
If you ask the global chat to edit one specific job’s scope, it won’t refuse and leave you stuck. It’ll offer to take you into that project and pick the conversation up there.
Using the Global Concierge Chat
Click Concierge. It’s the button at the very top of the left-hand navigation, above Dashboard.
Switch to the Chat tab. The panel has two tabs across the top — Chat and Quick Actions. Quick Actions is the shortcut menu and the search box; Chat is the conversation.
Say what you want. Type it the way you’d say it to a person: “start an opportunity for a bathroom remodel at 14 Oak Street for the Delgado residence.”
Answer the questions it asks. It’ll ask about anything it genuinely needs, usually as tappable option buttons rather than a wall of text.
Approve the change. Anything that writes to your account arrives as a card summarising exactly what it’s about to do. Nothing is saved until you approve it.
If you’d rather not type at all, the empty chat offers a few shortcuts to start from: Create an opportunity, Create a project, Start from a document, and Overview of my projects.
Using the Project Chat
Open the project or opportunity you want to work on.
Click the Ask AI tab — it’s the narrow vertical tab against the left-hand navigation.
Ask for what you need, or pick one of the shortcuts on the welcome screen.
Approve anything it proposes. Same rule: scope edits, task changes, and project updates all come back as a card for you to accept or decline.
The shortcuts you’re offered change with the state of the job, which is a decent map of what’s useful when:
Empty scope — AI Takeoff from plans, Generate AI estimate, Upload document to scope, Create a task.
Scope with line items — Update the estimate, Add items from a document, Create a task, Update project info.
Project already started (scope locked) — Prepare a change order, Summarize the scope, Create a task, Update project info.
The panel can sit docked beside your work, float over it, or go full-screen — the controls are in its header — so you can keep the project in view while you talk.
What It Can Actually Do
From the global chat:
Answer questions across all your jobs — which are biggest, what’s in a particular scope, what a client’s details are, where a project stands.
Create a new opportunity or project. Only a name is strictly required; you can fill in address, client, and description as you go.
Take a document you upload and start a job from it.
Walk you to the right page when you ask where something is.
From the project chat:
Build an estimate from a conversation. It works like a walkthrough with a good estimator — it plays back what it understood, asks the handful of questions that actually move the price, then produces priced line items.
Read an estimate, spreadsheet, or contract you upload and turn it into scope lines.
Run an AI Takeoff from plan PDFs.
Add, edit, move, and delete scope items.
Create, edit, complete, and delete tasks, including generating a task list from the scope.
Update the project name, address, and description.
Tell you whether a change order is possible, list the ones you have, and draft the wording for a new one.
Concierge Chat or the Help Chat?
Both are chat boxes and both are friendly, so it’s easy to end up in the wrong one. The dividing line is simple: the help chat explains, Concierge does.
Ask the help chat (the bubble at the bottom-right) when your question is about how Eano works: what “Payment Processing” means, whether archiving deletes anything, how to connect QuickBooks, what a plan costs, how to reach a human. It’s genuinely good at that, and it can hand you off to a person on our team when you need one.
Ask Concierge when your sentence starts with a verb aimed at your own account: create, add, update, build me, estimate, import, run a takeoff on. The help chat can’t reach into your account to do any of that — but Concierge can, and it’s a good deal faster than being talked through the clicks.
A quick translation:
“How do I create a task?” → either works, but Concierge will just create it with you.
“Create a task to order tile by Friday and assign it to Marco.” → Concierge.
“Why is my milestone showing 0%?” → the help chat.
“Write me an estimate for a 200 square foot deck.” → Concierge.
“What does the Takeoff add-on cost?” → the help chat.
“Where’s invoice 766178?” → neither can look it up for you the way you’d hope; ask the help chat to connect you with a person.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Nothing is saved without your approval. Every change Concierge wants to make comes back as a card you accept or decline first. You’re never one typo away from a rewritten scope.
Conversations are cleared after three days of inactivity. Come back after a quiet week and you’ll be starting fresh. If a conversation matters, act on it rather than parking it.
Starting a new chat deletes the current one. The New chat button asks you to confirm, and once it’s gone it can’t be recovered.
The project chat needs a project. The Ask AI tab only appears on a project or opportunity’s detail page, not on the lists and not on Dashboard, Finance, or Schedule. If you want to start something from anywhere in Eano, that’s what the global Concierge chat is for.
It’s on the web app. Concierge lives in Eano Pro in your browser. The mobile app has its own AI features for building estimates on the go, but the Concierge panel isn’t there.
Not everyone sees it. Subcontractor accounts don’t have a Concierge button at all. Field workers get the Quick Actions shortcuts but not the chat.
Treat the output as a strong first draft. It’s very good at getting you from a blank page to something real. It isn’t a substitute for your judgement on price — read what it produces before you send it to a client.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Eano’s chat actually create a project for me? Yes — that’s exactly what the global Concierge chat is for. Click Concierge at the top of the left-hand navigation, open the Chat tab, and say what you want to create. It’ll ask for the details it needs and show you a card to approve before the job is created.
I asked the help chat to build me an estimate and it just explained how. Why? The help bubble at the bottom-right is a guide, not a set of hands — it can’t reach into your account. For an estimate actually written into a job, open the project, click the Ask AI tab, and ask there. It’ll interview you about the work and produce priced line items.
Can it edit my scope? From inside the project, yes. Open the project, click Ask AI, and describe the change — “drop the tile allowance to $12 a square foot”, “move the demo lines into their own section”. It proposes the edit and you approve it. The global chat can’t edit a scope directly; it’ll offer to take you into the project instead.
Can it assign a task to someone? Yes, from the project chat. Name the person and it’ll match them against your team rather than guessing.
Where did the Copilot page go? Clicking Copilot in the left-hand navigation now opens the Concierge chat instead of the old page. Everything the Copilot tab did lives in Concierge, and it does it better.
What’s the difference between Concierge and Takeoff Concierge? Different things that share a name. Concierge is the chat assistant described here. Takeoff Concierge is the paid add-on that measures quantities off your uploaded plans — and you can start one from the chat by asking for a takeoff and attaching your plans.
It said it wasn’t sure where something lives. That’s deliberate. It would rather tell you it doesn’t know than invent a menu path. When it does that, take the question to the help chat at the bottom-right, which is built on our help center and can pass you to a person.
Can I use it on the free trial? Yes. Concierge isn’t gated behind a plan. AI Takeoff is the one piece with its own add-on pricing, and your first takeoff is free.
Is it Beta? The project-level Ask AI panel carries a Beta label, which is our way of saying it’s improving quickly and we want to hear what’s clumsy about it. Tell us — the chat is one of the fastest-moving parts of Eano right now, and what you report genuinely steers it.
