Canceling Your Plan

Written by Joseph Kibe

If you’re thinking about canceling, we’d genuinely like to hear from you first — and not just to talk you out of it.

Something brought you here. Maybe the plan isn’t the right fit, maybe a feature you needed didn’t work the way you expected, or maybe Eano just isn’t matching how your business runs. Whatever it is, there’s a decent chance we can fix it, swap you to a plan that fits better, or at the very least learn something that makes the product better for the next contractor. A lot of the changes we’ve shipped started as somebody telling us why they were about to leave.

So before you go: message us in the app, or ask to talk to a person. No hard sell — we’ll either sort it out or help you close the account cleanly.

That said, it’s your account. If you’d rather just take care of it yourself, here’s how.

Canceling on Your Own

  1. Click your avatar in the top right and choose Upgrade Plan to open Plan & Billing.

  2. Find your Active Plan at the top of the page.

  3. Click Cancel plan.

  4. You’ll get a confirmation that tells you exactly when your access ends. Click Cancel Plan to confirm, or Back if you’ve changed your mind.

Only Owners and Admins can do this. If you don’t see the billing page at all, you’re not on one of those roles — whoever owns the account will need to handle it.

What Happens After You Cancel

You keep everything until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Canceling doesn’t cut you off that day. The confirmation screen shows the exact date your plan benefits expire, and it’s the end of your current billing period. Nothing is prorated or refunded mid-period, and nothing is charged again after that.

Your data doesn’t get deleted. Your projects, opportunities, clients, quotes, and history stay in your account. What changes is what you can access — once the plan lapses, the features on that plan close up.

Your clients aren’t cut off mid-job. Contracts that have already been signed stay signed, and records of what’s happened stay intact.

Changed Your Mind?

If you cancel and then think better of it, go back to Plan & Billing and click Reactivate plan. As long as your current period hasn’t ended yet, you’ll pick up right where you left off with nothing lost.

Maybe You Don’t Need to Cancel

A fair number of cancellations we see are really about the plan, not about Eano. A few things worth considering first:

  • Paying for more than you use? Moving down a plan keeps your account and your history intact while lowering the bill. You’ll find downgrade options right next to your active plan on the same page.

  • Slow season? Switching from annual to monthly on Pro gives you flexibility without walking away entirely.

  • Too many seats? Seats are adjustable on their own — you don’t have to change plans to change your headcount.

  • Something’s not working right? If a feature isn’t behaving the way you expect, tell us. It might be a bug on our end, or a setting that’s one click away from doing what you wanted.

We can walk through any of these with you in a few minutes.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period, not immediately. You’ve paid through that date and you keep access through it.

  • Downgrading isn’t the same as canceling. If you want to keep using Eano at a lower cost, look at downgrading instead — you stay on the platform.

  • On an annual plan, canceling stops the next renewal. It doesn’t refund the current year.

  • Reactivating is one click, right up until your period ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get a refund for the rest of my term? Cancellation stops your next renewal rather than refunding the period you’re in. You keep full access until the date shown on the confirmation screen. If you think your situation warrants a closer look, get in touch — we’d rather hear about it than have you guess.

Will I lose my projects and client data? No. Your data stays in your account. Canceling changes what you can access, not what exists.

Can I come back later? Yes. Your account and its history are still there — resubscribe and pick up where you left off. If your period hasn’t ended yet, Reactivate plan on the Plan & Billing page does it instantly.

I canceled by accident. What now? Go to Plan & Billing and click Reactivate plan. If your period has already ended, message us and we’ll help you get set back up.

I only want to cut costs, not leave. What should I do? Look at downgrading, dropping seats, or switching billing frequency before you cancel — all of them keep your account alive. And tell us what your budget looks like; we may have a better answer than the one you’d find on your own.

Can a team member cancel the plan? No. Only Owners and Admins can see the billing page or change the subscription.

Before You Go

If there’s a reason you’re leaving — a feature that didn’t work, something we’re missing, a price that didn’t add up — please tell us on your way out. Message us in the app or ask to talk to a person. It genuinely shapes what we build next, and you’d be surprised how often the answer is “we can fix that.”
