Test jobs, duplicates, deals that fizzled out — sooner or later your Opportunities list picks up a few entries you’d rather not look at. Eano gives you two ways to clean it up: archive an opportunity to tuck it out of sight while keeping it, or delete it to remove it for good. This article walks through both, and clears up the one spot that trips people up: there’s no delete button on the list itself — you do it from inside the opportunity.
Archive or Delete — Which One?
These two do very different things, so it’s worth a quick gut-check before you click:
Archive hides the opportunity from your active list but keeps everything. You can bring it back anytime. Reach for this when a deal goes cold but you might revisit it, or when you just want a tidier active view.
Delete removes the opportunity permanently. There’s no undo. Reach for this for test entries, accidental duplicates, or anything you’re certain you’ll never need again.
When in doubt, archive. It keeps your options open, and you can always delete later.
Why You Won’t Find a Delete Button on the List
This is the part that catches people out, so let’s say it plainly: the Opportunities list itself has no delete or archive control. There’s no checkbox to select a few and clear them, and no menu on the cards. Both actions live inside each opportunity, in the menu at the top of its detail page.
That also means there’s no bulk delete — you remove opportunities one at a time. If you’re clearing out several, you’ll repeat the same quick steps for each one.
How to Archive or Delete an Opportunity
From the Opportunities list, click the opportunity you want to remove. This opens its detail page.
Look at the top-right corner of the page, near the action buttons, for the three-dot menu (the “•••” icon). It’s there no matter which tab you’re on.
Click it to open the menu. You’ll see:
Archive Project (or Unarchive Project if it’s already archived)
Delete Project
Pick the one you want:
Archive Project asks you to confirm, then moves the opportunity out of your active list. You can find it again with the Archived filter on the Opportunities list and bring it back with Unarchive Project.
Delete Project pops up a confirmation that warns the action can’t be undone. Click Delete to confirm, and the opportunity is gone for good.
That’s it. After you confirm, you’ll land back on the Opportunities list with the entry cleared.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Delete is permanent. Once you confirm, the opportunity and its scope can’t be recovered. If there’s any chance you’ll want it later, archive instead.
Archived opportunities aren’t gone. They’re just filtered out of the active view. Switch the list to Archived to see them, and unarchive any you want back.
You delete one at a time. There’s no multi-select or bulk delete, so plan on repeating the steps for each opportunity you’re clearing.
Not everyone sees these options. The three-dot menu with Archive and Delete only shows for internal team members. Field Workers and external subcontractors or vendors won’t see it.
Already became a project? These steps cover opportunities. The same menu appears on projects, but deleting a live project behaves differently — if you’ve already started the job, archive is usually the safer move.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I delete several opportunities at once? Not right now — there’s no bulk or multi-select delete. You’ll open each opportunity and use its three-dot menu one at a time.
I deleted an opportunity by mistake. Can I get it back? No. Deletion is permanent and there’s no recovery. This is exactly why archiving exists — if you’re not sure, archive instead of delete.
What’s the difference between archiving and deleting? Archiving hides the opportunity but keeps it, and you can unarchive it anytime. Deleting removes it permanently with no undo.
I don’t see the three-dot menu — where is it? It sits in the top-right corner of the opportunity’s detail page, near the action buttons, on every tab. If you don’t see it at all, check your role: Field Workers and external subcontractors and vendors don’t get archive or delete options.
Where do archived opportunities go? They stay in Eano, just filtered out of your active list. Use the Archived filter on the Opportunities list to find them and unarchive any you need.
