Photo annotations help your crew document conditions more clearly and reduce back-and-forth questions. Instead of relying on long descriptions, you can visually point out exactly what needs attention.

What You Can Do With Photo Annotations

With the new annotation tools, you can now:

  • ✏️ Draw directly on your photo

  • ⭕ Circle or highlight important areas

  • 📌 Add simple arrow callouts before uploading

  • 📷 Save and attach the marked-up image to your Daily Log

This makes field communication faster, clearer, and far more accurate.

How to Add an Annotated Photo to a Daily Log

  1. Tap the camera icon on the Home page or click a Project then tap Daily Logs on the mobile app.

  2. Snap to take a photo.

  3. Start Annotating:

  • Pen Tool – draw arrows, notes, or underline items

  • Circle/Highlight Tool – emphasize a specific area

  • Arrow – point out a specific area

4. Tap Save when you’re done marking up the photo.

Your edited photo will now be attached directly to the Daily Log entry.

You can continue adding notes, additional photos, or submit the log as usual.

Why Use Photo Annotations?

This upgrade helps your team:

  • Reduce confusion about what a photo is showing

  • Communicate instructions faster

  • Improve clarity when documenting issues or progress

  • Minimize back-and-forth calls between office and field

  • Capture more accurate records for clients or inspectors

Clearer photos = smoother jobs.

Related Feature: Task Context

Alongside photo annotations, your team now sees project name and address directly inside task lists — helping field crews know exactly where each task belongs.
