What’s a Cost Book?

A Cost Book is a centralized database of pricing information for construction materials, labor, and services. It helps contractors and estimators generate accurate project estimates by using standardized costs based on current market rates.

That said, using a cost book is optional. Many contractors still rely on memory, past quotes, or rough estimates—and that works too. You’re not required to set up a cost book to use Eano Pro.

However, if you’re interested in setting one up, this video will walk you through the process:

Step 1: On the left side Navigation Menu, scroll down to Resource. Click on it to see the options under and click the Cost Book Setup

Note: the photo already has a Cost Book setup, but yours will show blank if you haven’t setup any Cost Book yet. Next steps will show you how

Step 2: Choose how you want to set up your Cost Book.

Option 1: Import with AI

Click the gray button Import Cost Codes. It will show another prompt. Then either drop the file or click to import it.

Option 2: Import existing cost codes

You have options to import NAHB cost codes or your own Cost Book Excel file.

Option 3: Import from Eano Library

Step 3: Just simply click on the button Import or select then click on the Add Items button. Depending on which option you prefer to use.
